Frequently Asked Questions
How do included pages work?
Each subscription plan includes a total number of document pages to be served and transcribed. These pages aren't consumed or replenished—they simply define the total number of PDF pages that can be actively served on a website at any given time. Transcription is always included. You have unlimited views for these pages. If the total number of pages across your hosted PDFs exceeds your page limit, you'll get a friendly warning with a prompt to upgrade to a higher number of included pages.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can modify your subscription anytime. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately, and are billed at a prorated rate for the month.
Price protection: Your monthly subscription price remains fixed during your subscription term, even if you increase usage—as long as you stay within 10% monthly growth (110% of your initial page count) and don't exceed 100% total growth over the entire term. This protects you from price increases while allowing reasonable growth.
What if I exceed my plan's number of pages?
Thanks to our price protection, you can grow up to 10% per month (110% of your initial page count) without any price changes. This is done to support our public organization customers' ability to communicate freely and to support transparency. If you need more substantial growth:
- If you exceed 110% of your initial monthly page count, or 200% total over your subscription term, you may need to upgrade to the next plan level
- Alternatively, you can delete or disable certain documents to stay within limits
- The application will guide you through your options, if needed.
Remember, if you disable DocAccess on certain documents, those documents won't benefit from any indemnification against ADA-related claims or lawsuits. See our Terms of Service for full details.
What is included in the free trial? Is a credit card required?
A free trial is included with all plans—allowing you to try DocAccess for all of the documents on your site for 30 days. Free trials are fully-functional and allow you to see up to 100,000 document pages fully remediated to feel confident with the quality of the transcriptions. No credit card is required. Note that indemnification is not included in the free trial.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Our standard plans renew monthly without long-term commitments or cancellation fees. However, we offer significant discounts for annual commitments: save 20% with a 2-year plan or 30% with a 3-year plan. Plus, all plans include price protection that locks in your rate during your subscription term, even if your usage grows moderately (up to 10% per month).
Can I exclude archived documents from DocAccess?
Yes. You can disable certain documents or URL paths (e.g., /archive/*) to remain excluded, and they will not count against your total number of pages. If you use Streamline for your website, any documents you set as archived are automatically excluded from DocAccess.
How does indemnification work?
DocAccess provides indemnification against ADA-related claims or lawsuits resulting from inaccessible documents served through our system, covering up to $250,000 in any federal lawsuits, state-imposed fines, emergency remediation, or associated legal costs. Please review our Terms of Service for full details.
What payment methods do you accept?
For monthly subscriptions, we accept credit cards with automatic billing. For annual plans, we offer invoicing with NET 45 terms and accept credit cards, ACH transfers, wire transfers, and paper checks.
